Martin Luther King Jr. Drive Ramp Where U.S. 29 and I-40 West Meet to Close For Nighttime Pavement Work Starting Monday in Guilford County

Greensboro - N.C. Department of Transportation contractors will close the westbound ramp at U.S. 29/70 feeding traffic onto Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Greensboro beginning on Monday, May 2. At 9 p.m., crews will close ramp (Exit 222) for pavement improvements that are expected to finish up by 8 a.m. Thursday, June 2. Work is being done at night in an effort to lessen the impact on traffic. During the closure, drivers will detour along South Elm Eugene Street and East Florida Street. NCDOT encourages motorists to pay attention, obey the posted speed limit, and allow extra time to reach their destinations safely.
