where: Just north of 6875 Hickory Ridge Road, Harrisburg, between Stallings Road and the railroad tracks
details: Members of the media are invited to attend a ceremony to celebrate the recent opening of Harrisburg Veterans Road (Roberta Road Extension). Part of the Piedmont Improvement Program, this project includes a grade separation over the North Carolina Railroad to improve safety and efficiency for trains, motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians. Event speakers include N.C. Transportation Secretary Nick Tennyson and Harrisburg Mayor Steve Sciascia. Comments will be made from 11-11:30 a.m. Opportunities for B-roll/photography will be from 11:30 a.m. to noon. Media outlets should arrive at the site of the ceremony no later than 10:45 a.m. On-street parking will be available on Hickory Ridge Road. Members of the media who plan on attending must respond to Warren Cooksey by Wednesday, Aug. 17, by 3 p.m.
