Office is scheduled to re-open within weeks
Raleigh - The N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles has brought relief to the Brevard Driver License Office, installing a mobile unit at the facility, which has been closed since Aug. 1.
The DMV mobile unit is located in the parking lot of the Brevard office at 50 Commerce St., and offers driver license services, including testing and renewals.
The office was damaged on Sunday, July 31, when a vehicle crashed into the office door and rendered it inoperable. Repairs to the building are underway, but may take two more weeks to complete.
The mobile unit began providing services Monday, Aug. 22 and will continue to operate until the office is repaired. The unit is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Many DMV services, including driver license renewal, can be performed online by going to www.ncdot.gov/dmv and clicking Online Services. The Hendersonville office located at 125 Baystone Dr., also provides driver license services in the region. It can be reached at (828) 692-6915.
