Raleigh - Are you an engineer, planner, safety professional, policymaker or employee who works with the rail industry? If so, you won't want to miss the 2016 Southeast Rail Forum March 16-18 in Charlotte, co-hosted by the N.C. Department of Transportation's Rail Division and the Triangle Chapter of the Women's Transportation Seminar. Registration for the event closes March 2.
Forum sessions will highlight a variety of topics related to high-performance passenger, intermodal and freight rail, including:
The need for rail to support a growing region and economy;
The positive economic impacts of passenger and freight rail operations and investments;
Ongoing initiatives throughout the Southeast and associated challenges; and
Governance issues on how to fund projects across state lines.
The event is a collaboration of several southeastern states including Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. Attendees will enjoy a welcome reception at the NASCAR Hall of Fame, presentations from top rail experts and tours of key rail projects in the area.
