Charlotte - The N.C. Department of Transportation will close one lane of Interstate 77 Southbound near Exit 23 (Gilead Road) for crews to perform emergency pothole repairs.
The right lane of I-77 south near the interstate on-ramp from Exit 23 will be closed today from 10:15-11:30 a.m. while crews patch the large pothole. NCDOT received a report of the pothole today around 8:15 a.m. and began preparing to make the repairs after rush hour traffic.
Motorists traveling in the area are encouraged to slow down and be mindful of crews working along the interstate.
