Greensboro - The N.C. Department of Transportation will hold an informal public meeting next month regarding the regarding the Naco Road Extension project.
The purpose of the project is to remove existing at-grade railroad crossings and provide safety improvements along the rail corridor. NCDOT identified these crossings for possible closure or improvement based on the recommendations of the East Guilford Traffic Separation Study that was completed in 2013. By providing alternate access to safer crossings, the project will reduce train and vehicle conflicts along the corridor.
The public meeting will take place on Tuesday, June 7 at Genesis Baptist Church at 2812 East Bessemer Avenue in Greensboro from 5 to 7 p.m.
Interested citizens may attend at any time during the meeting hours, as no formal presentation will be made. NCDOT representatives will be available to answer questions and listen to comments regarding the project. Citizens will also have the opportunity to submit comments and questions in writing. All written comments and questions should be submitted no later than Thursday, June 30, 2016.
The public can view maps displaying the location and design of the project as they become available online at http://ncdot.gov/projects/publicmeetings/default.html.
