NCDOT to Close Martin Luther King Jr. Drive Exit in Greensboro Where U.S. 29 and I-40 East Meet For Bridge Replacement Work Tonight

Greensboro - N.C. Department of Transportation will close Exit 223 at U.S. 29/70 East while contractors continue work to replace the bridge that carries Martin Luther King Jr. Drive over U.S. 29.

Weather permitting; crews will begin work that will take place nightly from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. Tonight and Wednesday March 30 and 31. The road is expected to re-open by 6 a.m. on Friday, April 1. This project is part of the department's statewide bridge program to improve the condition of the state's bridges. NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
