Greensboro - The N.C. Department of Transportation will close a small portion of Union Ridge Road north near Burlington starting Monday, May 23, as crews replace a damaged cross line pipe. Weather permitting, work will be done daily from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. It is expected to wrap up the following week on Friday, June 3.
Local traffic will be able to access homes and businesses, but will not be able to pass beyond the closure points on either side of the work area. Motorists traveling through the area can use Venison Road and Willie Pace Road as the nine-mile detour route.
NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
