Charlotte - The N. C. Department of Transportation will hold an informal public meeting regarding the proposed realignment of intersection N.C. 150 (Peach Street) and U.S. 74 Business (East Marion Street) in Cleveland County.
The purpose of this project is to make the routes safer and more effective in handling the traffic. This intersection realignment project is an example of the transportation improvement projects underway across the state as part of Governor McCrory's25-Year Transportation Vision to enhance travel safety and to better connect North Carolinians to jobs, education, healthcare and recreation opportunities.
The meeting will take place on Tuesday, June 21, from 4-7 p.m. at Jefferson Elementary School, 1166 Wyle Road in Shelby. During this meeting, NCDOT representatives will provide information and answer questions regarding the project. Interested citizens may attend at any time during the above mentioned hours. There will not be a formal presentation.
The opportunity to submit written comments will be provided at the meeting. Citizens can also submit comments by mail, no later than July 5.
