Greensboro - N.C. Department of Transportation contractors will close traffic on Neelley Road from U.S. 421 South to Minden Road starting at 9 p.m. Friday, June 24 as traffic is shifted onto the newly constructed interchange with Williams Dairy Road. The closure is expected to be in effect until 6 a.m. Monday, June 27.
"The work is being done to help make the commute safer by removing an at-grade crossing that required travelers to cross four lanes of traffic in a congested area," said Division Engineer Mike Mills.
During the closure, motorists on Neelley Road should follow the signed detour route along Minden Road, Company Mill Road and traffic on U.S. 421 wanting to access Neelley Road should follow the U.S. 421 signed detour route along U.S. 421, Company Mill Road back to Minden Road.
NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
