New Turning Lane Being Constructed on N.C. 68 North; Traffic Stalls For Next Three Weeks in Oak Ridge

Greensboro - N.C. Department of Transportation crews will begin work to build a new right turn lane at the intersection of N.C. 68 and East Harrell Road starting on Tuesday, April 5.

Work will begin at 9 a.m. and the turn lane is expected to be completed by Friday, April 22 at 3 p.m. While N.C. 68 will not be completely closed NCDOT crews will be working in the roadway and reminds the traveling public to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the Move Over Law. Under the "Move Over" law, motorists are required to move over one lane, if possible, or reduce speed for stopped emergency vehicles with flashing lights on the shoulder of the highway, including public service vehicles with amber lights. Violating the law could result in a $500 fine.
