Routine bridge repair work will necessitate lane and ramp closures each night from tonight through Thursday.
The N.C. Department of Transportation will close the ramp from I-277 Exit 1B to I-77 South tonight, Tuesday night, Wednesday night and Thursday night from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. The stretch of road from the Exit 9 collector road to I-77 South will also be closed during this same time.
Traffic will be require to take Exit 9A (West Boulevard). Traffic needing to access I-77 South will take I-77 North to Exit 9B (I-277 Outer) and Exit 5B to I-77 South.
Also during this time, two right lanes will be closed in the same area of Exit 9 on I-77 South. This is all due to bridge repairs on the I-77 South bridge over West Boulevard.

Road, bridge, and other transportation improvement projects like this one are currently underway across the state as part of Governor McCrory's 25-Year Transportation Vision to enhance travel safety and to better connect North Carolinians to jobs, education, healthcare and recreation opportunities.
New transportation projects in the state's current 10-year plan are funded through the Strategic Mobility Formula, a new way of more efficiently investing transportation dollars by using a data-driven scoring process along with local input to fund more projects and create more jobs. The new mobility formula was passed into law in 2013 under Governor McCrory's leadership.
