Charlotte - On Saturday, Sept. 10, at 6:00 a.m., a contractor for the N.C. Department of Transportation will close Oakdale Road at Interstate 485 in Charlotte as part of the construction of a new interchange. Oakdale Road will reopen on Monday, Sept. 12, at 5:00 a.m.
Signs will guide motorists through detour routes in the area.
Motorists on Mt. Holly-Huntersville Road seeking to turn right onto Oakdale Road should instead turn right onto Beatties Ford Road, then turn right onto Miranda Road, which intersects Oakdale Road.
Motorists on Mt. Holly-Huntersville Road seeking to turn left onto Oakdale Road should instead turn left onto Brookshire Boulevard, then turn left onto Pleasant Grove Road, which intersects Oakdale Road.
Motorists traveling north on Oakdale Road to Mt. Holly-Huntersville Road will have two options. First, they can turn left onto Pleasant Grove Road and then turn right onto Brookshire Boulevard. Alternatively, they can turn right onto Miranda Road and then turn left onto Beatties Ford Road.
