- North Carolina Department of Transportation
maintenance crews have temporarily closed one northbound lane around the 2100 block of North Tryon Street near West 24th Street in Charlotte to repair a damaged drainage structure.
A catch basin on the outside lane at this location is damaged and missing its grate. This catch basin is within vehicles' wheel lines, so NCDOT crews need to close the lane for about 200 feet to allow for motorists' safe travel and for crews to make the necessary repairs.
Because of the extent of the repairs, this lane is expected to remain closed until the evening rush hour on Tuesday, May 17.
Motorists are encouraged to use caution and slow down when traveling through the area.
