Charlotte - A contractor for the N.C. Department of Transportation will perform geotechnical testing and drilling for the proposed Concord Mills Flyover starting Monday night, Aug. 15, through Friday morning, Aug. 19, and again from Monday night, Aug. 22, through Thursday morning, Aug. 25. As a result, crews will close lanes on Concord Mills Boulevard between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. during those dates.
Motorists traveling through the area overnight should expect delays, but no detours will be necessary.
The Concord Mills Flyover is a project funded under Governor McCrory's Strategic Transportation Investments Act, which prioritizes transportation projects based upon a data-driven process. When complete, the Flyover will reduce delay and congestion on Concord Mills Boulevard adjacent to Concord Mills.
