- A portion of Harrisburg Road in Charlotte will close briefly next week to allow railroad crews to perform maintenance work on a rail crossing.
Harrisburg Road will close to traffic at the rail crossing west of Pence Road on Thursday, Aug. 4, and Friday, Aug. 5.
A detour will be in place directing motorists to take Harrisburg Road to Pence Road, then N.C. 24 (W.T. Harris Boulevard) to Robinson Church Road and back to Harrisburg Road. NCDOT will have additional signage in place directing traffic from Albemarle Road to proceed to W.T. Harris Boulevard in an effort to minimize the effects of additional traffic on Pence Road.
