Raleigh - Contractors for the Department of Transportation will begin re-alignment of two roads near U.S. 220 from southwest of Harrington Road to the I73/74 interchange near Ellerbe in Richmond County on Monday, Nov. 7.
The project calls for the closure of Crestview Road for 300 feet from U.S. 220. It also calls for the closure of Harrington Road for 0.4 miles from U.S. 220.
Crestview Road access to U.S. 220 will be closed permanently due to this project. Travelers will gain access to U.S. 220 by the newly re-aligned road that will intersect U.S. 220 from Billy Covington Road.
Traveling east on Harrington Road, lane closures will be in place until traffic is switched onto the new road.
Motorists are reminded to watch for construction and detour signs, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit. For real-time travel information at any time, visit the Traveler Services section of the NCDOT website or follow NCDOT on Twitter.
