Crews to repair damaged roadway north of Holly Ridge
Wilmington - The N.C. Department of Transportation will shift travel lanes in both directions on U.S. 17 between Jacksonville and Holly Ridge beginning at 8:30 a.m., Thursday, June 9 and continuing through Saturday, June 11.
The traffic shift is necessary so crews can safely repair roadway damage caused by water leaking from a ruptured drainpipe beneath the road.
The southbound lanes will be reduced from two lanes to a single lane and shifted to the northbound side, while northbound traffic will merge into a single lane that will run through the work zone.
Electronic signs and cones will guide drivers through the area. There will not be any detours; however, drivers are advised to seek alternate routes as delays can be expected. Motorists are also advised to slow down and use caution while traveling in the area.
