Raleigh - The Department of Transportation will be closing a section of Old Greensboro Road north of Thomasville for most of next week. The closure near the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church and Shelton Road is needed so crews can replace a failed storm water drainage pipe, and rebuild the roadway.
The closure is scheduled to start at 8 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 29, and wrap up by 4 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 1.
The signed detour in place will have motorists using Midway School Road, Old Thomasville Road, George Murphy Road and Friendship Ledford Road to get around the closure
Drivers should allow extra time when traveling through the area, and pay attention to detour and construction signs.
