Raleigh - Contractors for the Department of Transportation will close Tom Starling Road in Fayetteville this weekend for pipe and road work. The closure between Pennystone Drive and Production Drive will be in place between 9 a.m. Friday, Nov. 4, and 9 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6.
The closure is needed so contractors can repair one of the pipes washed out during Hurricane Matthew and will also tie in the new roadway alignment between Pennystone Drive and Production Drive. This work will straighten out one of the sharp curves on the road.
Drivers will follow a signed detour using Corporation Drive, N.C. 59 South/Chickenfoot Road, Sand Hill Road and N.C. 87. Motorists are urged to obey traffic and detour signs, and allow for some extra time while traveling through the area. Real-time travel information state is available at any time in the Traveler Services section of NCDOT.gov or by following NCDOT on Twitter.
