Lexington - Tickets are on sale now for the 33rd annual Lexington Barbecue Festival's special train stop, which makes it easy for guests to attend the event on Oct. 22.
NC By Train's Piedmont and Carolinian trains running between Raleigh and Charlotte will stop in Lexington in the morning and afternoon. The temporary train stop is not wheelchair accessible.
Getting to the Festival
Take the morning (6:45 a.m.) Piedmont 73 train or mid-day (11:45 a.m.) Piedmont 75 train to the festival. Both trains make stops at Cary, Durham, Burlington, Greensboro, High Point and Lexington. The Piedmont 73 arrives at the Lexington Barbecue Hospitality Center at 8:55 a.m., while the Piedmont 75 arrives at the festival at 1:55 p.m.
Take the morning (7 a.m.) Carolinian 80 train or the mid-day (noon) Piedmont 74 train to the festival. Both trains make stops at Kannapolis, Salisbury and Lexington. The Carolinian 80 arrives at the Lexington Barbecue Hospitality Center at 8 a.m., while the Piedmont 74 arrives at the festival at 1:03 p.m.
Take Piedmont 74, departing at 1:03 p.m. and arriving in Raleigh at 3:21 p.m., or Piedmont 76, departing at 6:18 p.m. and arriving in Raleigh at 8:36 p.m. Both trains leave from the festival and stop at High Point, Greensboro, Burlington, Durham, Cary and Raleigh.
Take Piedmont 75, departing at 1:55 p.m. and arriving in Charlotte at 3:04 p.m., or Carolinian 79, departing at 7:05 p.m. and arriving in Charlotte at 8:12 p.m. Both leave from the festival and stop at Salisbury, Kannapolis and Charlotte.
