Tractor-trailer crash shuts down I-85 South near Virginia State Line

Raleigh - A tractor-trailer crash has shut down southbound Interstate 85 near exit 220 in Vance County, and it is expected to remain closed until later this afternoon.

A detour sends motorists off the road at exit 220, about 14 miles south of the Virginia state line. They are being directed to turn left on Flemington Road, then south on U.S. 1 to U.S. 158 West and then right on Parham Road to return to I-85 at exit 215.

Drivers should expect major delays in the area.
