Greensboro - N.C. Department of Transportation contractors must close a section of Huffine Mill Road at Oakleigh Road in McLeansville this weekend so crews can tie in a new traffic pattern as a part of work that is taking place along the Greensboro Eastern Loop project.
The Eastern Loop project will complete the U.S. 70 interchange; construct a four-lane freeway from U.S. 70 to U.S. 29 north and construct two new interchanges connecting the Greensboro Loop to Huffine Mill Road and U.S. 29. Construction began in August 2014 and should be complete on December 2018.
This weekend's closure will take place at 6 a.m. on Saturday, July 23 and is expected to remain in place by 6 a.m. on Monday, July 25.
Motorists traveling through the area will use Camp Burton Road and Rankin Mill Road as the 5-mile detour. Travelers needing access to Oakleigh Road will use a temporary driveway connection during the construction.
NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
