Charlotte - The N.C. Department of Transportation will start a project to replace two bridges in Wadesboro on Monday, Feb. 6, weather permitting. Dane Construction, Inc. was awarded the $1 million contract to replace one bridge on Doctor Wyatt Road, and another on Cox Road.
Because the bridges are in close proximity to each other, NCDOT will replace one at a time, starting with the bridge on Doctor Wyatt Road.
While crews replace the existing structure, motorists will be detoured using Cox Road, N.C. 109, Allen Road and Old Stanback Ferry Road.
The bridge is scheduled to open June 1.
The contractor will close Cox Road June 2. A detour will be posted for motorists along N.C. 109, Allen Road, Old Stanback Ferry Road and Doctor Wyatt Road.
That bridge is scheduled to open Aug. 31.
