Wilmington - A traffic signal project next week will require the closure of the U.S. 76 ramp from the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge to U.S. 421/Front Street early next week. The ramp closure will be on Monday, March 27, and Tuesday, March 28, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. each day, weather permitting.
Workers will install a temporary traffic signal at the intersection of Front Street and the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge ramp in preparation for the eight-month closure of U.S. 421/ 3rd Street scheduled to start April 10.
"Drivers who normally use the ramp should make a right at 3rd Street to access Front Street/U.S.421 Truck," said Division Traffic Engineer Jessi Leonard. "If traveling in the area, please use caution and obey the posted speed limit. The signal will be in place throughout the 3rd Street closure for the Greenfield Lake Culvert Project."
