ROCKWELL – N.C. Department of Transportation maintenance crews must close a section of Sis Carter Road next week while they replace a deteriorating storm drain culvert that crosses under the roadway near Rockwell.
The road will close at 8 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 5. It is scheduled to reopen by 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 9, weather permitting.
Motorists traveling through the area should detour around the closure using Organ Church Road, Old Beatty Ford Road and Shuping Mill Road.
Transportation officials advise drivers to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit. Drivers should anticipate delays due to the detour.
