FAYETTEVILLE – The N.C. Department of
Transportation needs to close the southbound on-ramp to the All American Freeway
for Raeford Road traffic for two days next week for a safety project.
If the weather allows, crews will close the ramp at 9 a.m. Monday,
May 21, to perform the first phase of work – milling away the old asphalt and
resurfacing a portion of the ramp – which will reopen later that day.
On Tuesday, the ramp will close again to allow workers to perform
work on the unpaved shoulder before reopening by Tuesday evening.
Approximately 30 days later, the second phase of the project will
begin when NCDOT will close the ramp again to apply a surface treatment that
increases the road’s friction for the vehicles using it. The treatment process
will require the ramp to be closed for a few days.
During the closure, northbound traffic should go under the All
American Freeway and turn right onto Owen Drive to access the freeway.
