BURLINGTON – N.C. Department of Transportation contract
crews must shift traffic along a
portion of Pond Road near N.C. 62 in Alamance County while they replace a
bridge. The bridge built in 1952 no longer meets the demands of traffic crossing
it.
Work will start at 8 a.m. on Monday, April 30. Work will be complete
by Friday, Oct. 12.
“A temporary one-lane traffic shift will occur to
maintain the traffic along Pond Road during construction,” said NCDOT Division 7
Resident Engineer Chris Kirkman.
Transportation officials remind
motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the
posted speed limit.
