RALEIGH – The North Carolina Turnpike Authority will implement lane and shoulder closures along the Triangle Expressway eastbound lanes between exit 54 at the N.C. 55 Bypass interchange and exit 50 at the Holly Springs Road interchange on or around Monday, March 3 through Friday, April 11 from 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. each night.
The nightly lane and shoulder closures are necessary to allow crews to safely install and test toll gantry equipment on the eastbound toll gantry between exit 54 and exit 50. The work will take place overnight to minimize disruption to drivers.
During the lane and shoulder closures, at least one eastbound lane will remain open to traffic. This activity will have no effect on westbound traffic.
Motorists are advised to plan ahead and build in extra travel time while driving through the work zone during the scheduled closures.
The lane and shoulder closures are weather dependent. Drivers should slow down and pay extra attention when navigating through the area.
