Chuck Travis is an award-winning architect and president of Housing Studio, PA in Charlotte. He is also a fellow with the American Institute of Architects.
Travis has dedicated his career to formulating housing design strategies that are both economically and environmentally sustainable. His work has had an impact on suburban communities, high-rise condominiums, historic renovations and single-family homes.
Travis is also the mayor of Cornelius, following two terms as a Cornelius town commissioner. He is also vice chairman of the N.C. Metropolitan Mayors Coalition. He previously served as the chairman of the Lake Norman Transportation Committee and as a member of the local metropolitan planning organization. Travis currently serves on the Metropolitan Transit Commission.
A native of Statesville, Travis holds architecture degrees from North Carolina State University and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
His term on the N.C. Turnpike Authority Board of Directors runs from 2015 to 2019.
