Allen Moran joined the N.C. Board of Transportation in May 2017.
In 2008, Moran began a career in law enforcement as a deputy with the Dare County Sheriff's Office and has risen to the rank of captain. He manages the county's detention center, including 50 employees and a $4 million budget. Moran is also a licensed real estate broker, and he works with his wife Caroline as a real estate team with Village Realty in Nags Head.
A lifelong resident of Dare County, Moran graduated from Wanchese Christian Academy and completed law enforcement courses at the College of the Albemarle and the North Carolina Justice Academy. He serves as the vice chairman of the Roanoke Island Community Center Board and as a member of the Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce Governmental Affairs Committee.
