Larry D. Hall Board Member


Through his leadership and legal expertise, Larry D. Hall has dedicated his life to service by advocating for education, the environment, healthcare and veteran affairs for North Carolina.

A longtime member of the House of Representatives, Hall represented Durham’s District 29 from 2006 to 2017, rising to become the House Democratic Caucus Leader from 2013 to 2017. In this role, Hall championed legislation to expand funding for public education, healthcare and voting rights. His service continued as the Secretary for the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs from 2017 to 2021, overseeing state and federal efforts to support military families, safeguard installations and connecting veterans with essential services.

Currently practicing law with Berman and Associates P.A. in Durham, Hall also serves his community on the County Environmental Affairs Board and as a member of the Community College Foundation Board.

Hall served in the Marines from 1976 to 1998. His academic achievements include a bachelor of arts degree in political science, a business degree from Johnson C. Smith University and a juris doctor from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.​​
