Kim D. Saunders
​With a career that spans more than 32 years in the financial services industry, Kim D. Saunders is president and chief executive officer of the National Bankers Association.

She is also the founder, president and chief executive officer of the Eads Group Inc., a multi-disciplinary consulting firm that is spearheading the establishment of the MDI Keeper’s Fund.

Saunders previously served as president and chief executive officer of M&F Bancorp (2007 to 2014) and as president and chief executive officer of Consolidated Bank & Trust Company (2003 to 2007). She launched her banking career with The Chase Manhattan Bank in New York City.

Saunders sits on the Board of Directors for the Minbanc Foundation.

She previously served on many boards, including ones for the North Carolina Museum of Art Foundation, North Carolina Chamber of Commerce and North Carolina Bankers Association.

 
She also served as vice chairwoman for the Independent Community Bankers of America’s Minority Banks Council and was on the Federal Reserve Board of Richmond Community Depository Institutions Advisory Council, the inaugural Community Bank Advisory Council of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation’s Advisory Committee on Community Banking.

In 2018, Saunders served as a senior advisor for the Milken Institute’s Center for Financial Markets.

Saunders holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
