What do I need to update if I am moving?
Within 60 days of moving to North Carolina or moving within the state, you must change your address with the N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles, get a new license or ID, and a new vehicle registration.
If you are moving outside the state, you must surrender your North Carolina license and license plate upon establishing a new permanent residence.
