βMCLEANSVILLE β N.C. Department of
Transportation contractors will soon begin work replacing the Stewart Mill Road
Bridge over Little Alamance Creek near McLeansville in Guilford County.
βThe 64 foot long, one lane bridge was built in 1959 and
no longer meets the demands of traffic,β said Division 7 Resident Engineer Paul
Ingram P.E.
Local traffic will still be able to
access locations on either side of the bridge up to the point of closure at the
bridge construction area.
The portion of road will be
closed starting at 8 a.m. on Monday, June 18, until work is complete on Friday,
October 19, weather permitting.
Motorists will be
able to use Mt. Hope Church Road, AT&T Drive, Millstream Road and Creek Road
to detour around the closure.
NCDOT
reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and
obey the posted speed limit.
