ROANOKE RAPIDS – Starting Monday, June
25, motorists who use Three Bridges Road in Halifax County will encounter a
detour while maintenance work is done on the bridge near Quankey Creek south of
Roanoke Rapids.
N.C. Department of Transportation employees need to perform
maintenance on the wooden substructure of the 58-year-old bridge and the
pavement around it. The bridge is north of the intersection of Three Bridges
Road and N.C. 903.
The bridge is expected to reopen by Friday, June 29.
To avoid the closure, motorists should use N.C. 903, Old Halifax
Road, N.C. 48 and Carolinas Rest Home Road.
