RICHFIELD – N.C. Department of
Transportation contractors will begin work today replacing seven aging pipes
that run underneath River Road between Flat Creek Church Road and Hinson Road in
Richfield in Rowan County.
The portion of roadway
will close daily between 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. starting Monday, July 2, and will
reopen by 5 p.m. Friday, July 20, weather permitting.
Drivers can detour around the closure using Basinger Road, Richfield
Road and Bringle Ferry Road in both directions.
The
department encourages motorists to pay attention when approaching the work zone,
obey the posted speed limit and allow extra time to reach their destinations
safely.
