MEBANE – N.C. Department of Transportation contract crews will close the
on-ramp for Interstate 40/85 to N.C. 119 while workers install a new storm drain pipe, as part of the
N.C. 119 Mebane Relocation Project.
Crews will close the on-ramp nightly from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. from Monday, May 7, until Friday, May 11, weather permitting.
Motorists traveling northboundthrough the area will be detoured along Holmes Road, 3rd Street Extension, Gibson Road and Trollingwood Hawfields Road. Drivers traveling
southboundwill use Trollingwood Hawfields Road only to detour.
Transportation officials advise drivers to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
