WINSTON-SALEM — Drivers can expect closures in early March as crews work to demolish the Fourth Street bridge.
Starting Friday, March 9 at 9 p.m., both directions of Business 40 will close between Cloverdale Avenue and Peters Creek Parkway. They will reopen to traffic by 11 a.m. on Sunday, March 11, weather permitting.
The Fourth Street bridge will remain closed until reconstruction is complete in January 2019.
Local drivers can travel the roadway up until the point of closure, then use Cloverdale, First Street and Peters Creek Parkway in each direction to detour around the closure.
NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert, slow down in the work zone and obey the posted speed limit.
