LEXINGTON – Department of Transportation
contract crews started work this week, replacing an aging pipe with a new
aluminum pipe along Frye Road in Davidson County, closing the road for about a
month.
The road closed at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, May 29,
and will reopen it by 3:30 p.m. Friday, June 22, weather permitting.
Drivers can detour around the closure using Sunset Road and N.C. 150.
The department encourages motorists to pay attention
when approaching the work zone, obey the posted speed limit and allow extra time
to reach their destinations safely.
