Charlotte - Starting tonight, April 2, intermittent lane closures will be in place along Interstate 77 in both directions between Tyvola Road and the South Carolina line as contract crews install pavement markings.
This is ongoing work from an $11.4 million resurfacing project the N.C. Department of Transportation awarded last year to Blythe Construction, Inc. of Charlotte to improve about five miles of I-77, along with some bridges in the corridor.
The moving lane closures will be in place from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night through the end of April. Motorists should remain alert and use caution.
Work will be weather permitting.
