DURHAM – The N.C. Department of Transportation will hold a
public meeting next week regarding a rail safety project in East Durham. The
project proposes 2.4 miles of railroad improvements and the construction of new
bridges carrying Glover Road and Ellis Road over North Carolina Railroad tracks,
as well as the closure of the Wrenn Road railroad crossing.
The meeting will take place on Tuesday, May 22, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the
Hamner Conference Center-Dogwood Room, 15 T.W. Alexander Dr. in Durham.
Interested residents may attend at any time during the meeting hours, as no
formal presentation will be made.
NCDOT representatives will be available to answer questions and listen to
comments regarding the project. Comments may also be submitted via phone, email,
or mail by June 5. Comments received will be taken into consideration as the
project develops.
