DURHAM – A section of Herndon Road in
Durham will close starting Wednesday, May 30, at 9 a.m. and is expected to
reopen by Monday, June 11, at 6 a.m.
The closure is needed so contractors can install a pair of culvert
pipes under the road about 500 feet south of the intersection of Barbee Road,
Herndon Road, and Massey Chapel Road.
Engineers originally planned the closure in early May, but work was
postponed due to utility conflicts discovered shortly after beginning.
Motorists may utilize Massey Chapel Road, Fayetteville Road, and
Scott King Road to detour around the worksite.
