DENTON – Part of a Davidson County road will be closed for nearly a month while N.C. Department of Transportation crews work to repair a drainage pipe that was damaged during Hurricane Florence.
A short section of Shiptontown Road south of N.C. 47 will close at 8 a.m. Monday and is expected to remain closed until March 22.
A signed detour will direct traffic around the closure, following Silver Hill and Workman roads and N.C. 47.
Drivers are reminded to slow down as they approach the work zone and that traffic delays are possible with the detour.
