CONCORD – Traffic patterns at U.S. 29 and George Liles Parkway will be temporarily altered next week while N.C. Department of Transportation maintenance crews extend a turn lane.
Crews will remove about 50 feet of a raised concrete median and widen the roadway approximately 350 to build a turn lane into Christy’s Nursery, which is south of George Liles Parkway.
The work is scheduled to occur from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, June 24, through Friday, June 28.
To safely build the project, the following traffic patterns will be affected:
- Traffic will be reduced to one lane on U.S. 29 in both directions.
- No turn movements will be permitted under the George Liles Parkway overpass.
- Exit ramps from George Liles Parkway to U.S. 29 North and South will be closed.
- Entrance ramps from U.S. 29 to George Liles Parkway East and West will be closed.
Drivers can access George Liles Parkway from Roberta Church Road or Weddington Road.
