CHARLOTTE – As part of the Graham Street extension project, N.C. Department of Transportation contract crews will activate a new traffic signal Friday afternoon, July 12, where Mallard Creek Road meets Baucom Road, and a new connector between Mallard Creek Road and IBM Drive.
Once this signal goes live, the existing signal at the Mallard Creek/Old Mallard Creek Road intersection will be removed.
The Mallard Creek/Old Mallard Creek intersection will remain closed for construction activities to continue, ultimately redirecting current turn movements to and from side streets to right turns.
The project includes widening existing Mallard Creek Road from two to four lanes between Harris Boulevard and Morris Estates Drive and building a new alignment to the intersection of Sugar Creek Road and Graham Street.
