CHARLOTTE – N.C. Department of Transportation contract crews will temporarily close access from U.S. 29 to the Interstate 485 inner loop at 8 p.m. tonight, weather permitting.
The closure is part of a $10.8 million resurfacing contract that will provide drivers a better riding surface along a stretch of I-485 between I-85 and Rocky River Road.
The contractor will also close one lane on the inner loop between mile markers 34 and 36.
All lane closures will be removed by 6 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7.
Drivers should slow down and use extra caution while going through the work zones and be alert for construction crews or equipment.
