SHELBY – As work continues on the Shelby Bypass in Cleveland County, a temporary closure will be needed this weekend on N.C.180 between Airport Road and Cherryville Road, so crews can safely set bridge girders.
The closure will take place from 9 p.m. Friday until about 12:01 a.m. Monday, when N.C. 180 will be closed near Cherryville Road. Drivers will follow a posted detour from N.C. 180 along Cherryville Road, U.S. 74/N.C. 150, North Dekalb Street/N.C. 18 and Fallston Road/N.C. 18, returning to N.C. 180.
Motorists are encouraged to pay attention when approaching the work zone, obey the posted speed limit, and allow extra time to reach their destinations safely.
