DURHAM — N.C. Department of Transportation contractors are set to shift southbound Durham Freeway (N.C. 147) traffic to its final pattern this weekend.
Beginning at 7 a.m. Sunday, one lane at a time will be closed from Exit 10 (Briggs Avenue) to Exit 8 (Ellis Road) to allow crews to place new pavement markings and shift traffic off the paved shoulder to its final alignment. Work is scheduled to be completed by 6 p.m. Sunday.
The work is weather dependent and subject to change.
Drivers should pay extra attention and allow extra time to navigate the work zone.
This work is associated with the East End Connector project which is estimated to be completed November 2020.
