MOCKSVILLE – One lane is closed along a section of Interstate 40 in Davie County while contract crews repair the pavement.
The right lane of eastbound I-40 is closed between mile markers 162 and 165 and is expected to reopen by Feb. 14.
A signed alternative route follows I-77 and U.S. 421 back to I-40 East. Drivers who chose to stay on I-40 should slow down, be mindful of crews working in the area and expect delayed travel times.
This work is part of the $55.6 million project to rehabilitate 6.5 miles of I-40 in Davie County. The project includes replacement of two interstate bridges over Hunting Creek and upgrading the U.S. 64 bridge over I-40 at Exit 168.
